Symptom checker follow-up survey

The National Axial Spondyloarthritis Society (NASS) are conducting a survey among a subset of individuals who have completed the NASS online symptom checker.

Since 2021, the NASS online symptom checker has been completed over 50,000 times by individuals worried about their persistent back pain.

However, we do not understand what happens to these individuals after completing the NASS online symptom checker. For example, we do not know if individuals completing the symptom checker contacted their healthcare professional, used the results in consultations or received an explanation for their symptoms.

Thus, the aim of the survey is to understand the impact of the NASS online symptom checker and to evaluate individuals’ journey to diagnosis after completing the NASS online symptom checker.

You may be invited to take part in the survey if:

  • You experienced persistent back pain
  • You completed the NASS online symptom checker between July 2023 and December 2024
  • Your symptom checker scores indicated possible inflammatory back pain
  • You agree to provide us with your email address

The survey invite will be from admin@nass.co.uk and will include a SurveyMonkey link and QR code to the 15-minute survey. The survey can be completed on computer or mobile devices.

If you receive an invite from us, your participation is voluntary. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact us via email at goldstandard@nass.co.uk

If you choose to participate, any survey data is anonymous and will be grouped to form a dataset including other individuals who have completed the NASS symptom checker.

Aggregated data will be analysed and reported. The processing of this data is in line with our privacy policy

Survey responses will not contain information that may identify you.
