Dr Louise Warburton

Dr Warburton is a General Practitioner (GP) with extended role in Rheumatology and MSK; and an Associate Medical Director of Shropshire Community NHS Trust, who received a gold award for her work in improving diagnostic delay, through tirelessly raising awareness of axial SpA across primary care at a national level.

  • As Co-president of the Primary Care Rheumatology Society she has ensured that NASS has an annual conference slot to promote the work of the Act on axial SpA
  • She has regularly presented over the last few years at national conferences to audiences of GPs and primary care professionals focussed on inflammatory arthritis, including key messages on diagnostic delay.
  • She runs a Shropshire wide FCP mentoring scheme where she educates them on inflammatory arthritis and also advising on case management.
  • She regularly proactively shares the Act on axial SpA campaign messages through education sessions and personal social media.

She also played a key role in the development of the Gold Standard for time to diagnosis, advocating for primary care education and HCP engagement.
